YOUTH MINISTRY: FELLOWSHIP and EDUCATION

Regarding Summer Programming:

As the staff of LCR and the leaders of children and youth programming, we have been faced with the dilemma of what to do with our summer programs that many children, students and families have been signed up to be part of. Because of the school’s recent decision to not return to session for the remainder of this school year, we feel it is important to follow their lead and heed on the side of caution for our students and families. Therefore, we will not be proceeding with our summer programs, including pre-school VBS, elementary day camp, and the high school mission trip to Alamosa, Colorado. Our goal first and foremost is also the safety of the students, and we believe this is the right decision in order to both protect your students and participate in the global effort to slow down the spread of the virus. We thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing your kids again soon!

Wednesdays | 6 PM

Wednesday Night Live (WNL) is a Wednesday program for 3rd – 5th grade students. WNL meets from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  The goal of WNL is to foster friendships and to teach students how to be in service to others.  Each month the kids engage in large group and small group discussions, service projects and fellowship.  Fellowship activities include:  game night, parties, large group activities and movie nights. Service projects have included making blankets for animals at Cedar Valley Humane Society, baking cookies for firefighters, making cards for service men and women, making fleece scarves for those in need and shopping for groceries for the food pantry. Students are always welcome to bring a friend to join in the fun activities. Please contact Jill  with any questions.

Confirmation

6th - 8th Grade

Wednesdays | 7 PM

Students in 6th-8th grades prepare for their Affirmation of Baptism in May of their 8th-grade year.  During this time, they discover what it means to be active disciples of Jesus Christ. Student meet for large group lessons, small group discussions, and service projects throughout the school year. As a part of confirmation, students learn about ways they can serve within and beyond the Resurrection community by serving as acolytes, ushers, nursery assistants, and community service projects.
