PURPOSE OF THE LCR LIVING LEGACY FUND

To enhance the work of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection by providing ministry, education, and stewardship opportunities for the church that is in addition and apart from the general operation of the church.

Living Legacy Benevolence Project Updates:

"Lent Is For Love" - Cedar at 60

 

Lent 2024 - Cedar at 60

During Lent 2024, the congregation's free-will love offerings during Simple Soup Suppers were forwarded to Camp Ewalu's "Cedar at 60" fundraiser. Living Legacy matched the first $600 of the donations. Total donated to Camp Ewalu, including the $600 match was $2983.77.

 

 

God's Global Barnyard

During Advent, we are collected money to donate to "God's Global Barnyard," and ELCA Good Gifts ministry that helps provide animals and education on their proper care to communities in need throughout the world. The Living Legacy Fund matched $500 of  donations from the congregation,which is the equivalent of donating money for 10 goats.

 

Lent Service Project

During Lent 2023, our theme was “Feast on the Word” and “Feed the World.” We are collected 899 non-perishable food donations for the Churches of Marion Food Pantry and LCR’s Living Legacy Fund matched with a monetary donation. Monetary donations were also matched to $1500 and forwarded to ELCA World Hunger. The congregation was able to send a total of $4608 to ELCA World Hunger.

 

Reverse Advent Project

The Living Legacy Fund donated $1 for each item donated to the Churches of Marion Food Pantry through the Reverse Advent Project, up to $1500! The congregation donated over 1,500 items, so $1500 was given to the Food Pantry!

 

Camp Chisomo Well Project:

The Living Legacy Fund matched $2500 of donations given toward the "Spring Up O Well" Project for Camp Chisomo!
