Dear members and friends of LCR,
This Sunday, May 27th, marks the beginning of our summer worship schedule, with traditional worship at 8:15 and contemporary worship at 9:45. (The 11:00 New Song service will resume in September). Evening Song worship on Wednesdays will be held at 6 pm as usual. I will preach on the story of Nicodemus and Jesus about being born from above, which includes the most familiar bible verse of all – John 3:16. General Fund gifts support our local ministries and programs along with our mission partners locally and around the world. Through April, we received 103% of what was needed for General Fund ministries through April! Thanks for your generous, faithful support! As we head into the summer months, your support will be needed more than ever for our ministries like preschool VBS, day camp, and scholarships for campers going to EWALU. If you will be absent from worship this summer, note the ways you can give electronically listed below.
Giving through VANCO – You can give electronically to LCR through: the giving kiosk by the library or the Give+ mobile app, available from Google Play or iTunes. Once your information has been entered on the app, you can give to LCR anytime, anywhere. Another option is to send a text message to the number (319) 320-1628 from your mobile phone. You will receive a one-time registration link to enter credit or debit card payment information. After that, you can simply text the amount you want to give and it will process automatically.
Simply Giving – You can elect to have a weekly or monthly gift withdrawn from your checking or savings account. Enrollment forms are in the info rack by the Welcome Center. Over a third of our General Fund offerings come from Simply Giving families.
Your gifts to the Growth & Outreach Fund in May will provide salary, benefits, and housing for our seminary intern, Alyssa Weaver; facility maintenance and repair; and support of Marion Cares after-school programming and the home we partnered in building with Habitat for Humanity. So far in 2018 we have given over $3,400 each to Marion Cares and Habitat for Humanity; our goal for 2018 is $10,000 for Marion Cares and $15,000 for Habitat.
