Dear members and friends of LCR,
My farewell sermon will be this Sunday, May 26th, with receptions between services on the 26th and an Open House on Wednesday the 29th from 7-9 pm. The 6 pm service on the 29th will include some comments from LCR members, starting around 6:30 pm. All are welcome.
This Sunday’s sermon – “Life Lessons from Bible Camp” – will take you on a whitewater canoe trip down the Flambeau River in northern Wisconsin, where we will learn valuable life lessons, such as: small groups build relationships; leave a campsite better than you found it; Jesus is Lord; and four others.
The King’s Men will sing at the 8:00 service. At the 10:00 service holy communion will be served.
Next Sunday, June 2nd, Pastor Paul Ostrem from our Southeastern Iowa Synod staff will preach and our new interim pastor, Pastor Denny Wright, will assist in worship.
There are other unique events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website (www.lcrmarion.org) provide more details on each topic.
God bless you always,
A Message from the Church Council – Brothers and sisters in Christ, there is a lot of activity in the church with the upcoming retirement of Pastor Dennis. The council has gathered a set of names for the call committee and will select the members soon. In addition, we have finished the search for an interim senior pastor and are pleased to announce that Pastor Denny Wright will be starting on May 28th. The council thanks the congregation for their prayers and support during this exciting time, and thanks the staff, worship team, and volunteer team for their extra efforts. – LCR Council
