Resurrection E-news: Sunday, March 25, 2018

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Sunday, March 25, is Palm/Passion Sunday. EDGE youth will lead our Palm/Passion Sunday worship at 9:45 & 11. The Resurrection Ringers will share an anthem at 8:15 and 9:45. Pastor Miranda will preach on the stories of Holy Week. Today, we begin our week-long reflection on the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation of the world through Jesus’ sufferings, death, burial, and resurrection. Join us as we worship with palms and celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Jesus knows that his triumphal entry will lead to his suffering and death, but he continues in order to seek and save all who are lost in their sins through his death on the cross.

There are other upcoming events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website ( provide more details on each topic.

Blessings to you,

Pastor Dennis

These Stephen Ministers are committed to providing Christian care for others experiencing many different needs. Your gifts to the Growth & Outreach Fund in March will provide salary, benefits, and housing for our seminary intern, Alyssa Weaver; funds for Camp Chisomo scholarships for youth and adults going to Malawi in June; and facility maintenance. Our support of Marion Cares and Habitat for Humanity projects will resume once the $5,000 goal for scholarships is met. In February we received $7,997 for the Growth & Outreach Fund, and set aside $2400 for Camp Chisomo scholarships.

General Fund gifts support our local ministries and programs led by our staff and carried out by our members and friends. Your General Fund gifts also support our mission partners locally and around the world. Our monthly need will be about $57,800 for an annual budget of $693,350. Through February we received 97% of what was promised from our General Fund commitments in the 2018 Fund Appeal. Thanks for your generous, faithful support so far in 2018!

March-April mission envelopes are designated for the ELCA “40 Days of Giving” emphasis. Malawi health & wellness projects and education & vocational training needs will be supported through this emphasis.
