Resurrection E-news: Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Easter Sunday, April 21, we will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord with worship services at  8:00, 10:00, and 11:15. The largest crowd will be at 10:00; if you normally attend that service, consider coming at 11:15 as that service will be identical to 10:00. The 8:00 service will have several anthems by the Resurrection Choir. All Easter services will offer holy communion. (If you are out of town on Easter, come on Wednesday night for 6 pm Evening Song worship, as the theme and message will be the same as Easter Sunday).

My Easter sermon will wrap up our six week series on John: the Gospel of Light and Life. In John 20, the resurrected Christ gives his disciples, then and now, peace for their troubled hearts; power through his Holy Spirit; and a purpose for life. At the end of each service, we will show a video trailer for our next sermon series- Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times- and hand out a take home postcard with each week’s topics.

Congratulations to Pastor Miranda & Jesse Klosterboer on the birth of Jonathan Samuel on April 14th. Pastor Miranda is now on her maternity leave through July 15.

There are other unique events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website ( provide more details on each topic.

May Easter joy and peace be with you,

Pastor Dennis

Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope – our new five week sermon series – begins next Sunday, April 28. Next week’s sermon by Pastor Dennis will be “An Age of High Anxiety: Understanding and Countering Fear.” This series will explore the most common worries and fears experienced by Americans today; consider practical steps for overcoming these fears; and look at these fears in the light of scripture and faith that calls us to live with courage and hope.

Groups will not meet on Easter, but resume next Sunday at 9:05:

Several members gave their entire 2019 offerings in the first quarter for tax purposes. As we enter our second quarter, let’s all remain faithful in our support of LCR and our mission partners.
