Holy Week/Easter Worship

As we observe the events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection there will be several worship opportunities, each with its own significance this week. Family guests and community members are welcome to join us for any or all of these worship services.

Maundy Thursday – 7:00 pm Thursday, April 21, 2011
Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples in what turned out to be his last supper with them before his crucifixion. We share in that supper through our participation in Holy Communion. This is also the worship in which the 4th grade students who have received instruction will participate in their First Communion.

Good Friday – 7:00 pm Friday, April 22, 2011
Good Friday worship is a somber, meditative service in which we recall through readings and song, the crucifixion of Jesus.

Easter Sunday – 8:15, 9:45 & 11:00 am Sunday, April 24, 2011
We celebrate Jesus’ triumph over death with shouts of, “He is risen! He is risen indeed!”  We sing “Alleluia” with angel choirs and believers across time and around the world. We no longer need to live in fear because Jesus goes ahead of us ready to welcome us into a new day and a new life.

Easter Brunch – 9:00-10:45
Join us for Easter Brunch in the Fellowship Hall before or after worship. A free-will offering will be taken and proceeds will support the youth participating in the summer mission trip. Egg bakes, fruit, juice, milk and coffee will be served along with other baked goods.

Return to Fall Worship Schedule

Worship at Resurrection returns to the fall schedule on August 22, 2010 with three worship opportunities on Sunday morning: First Light Worship at 8:15; Hope4All Worship at 9:45 and New Song Worship at 11:00. If Sunday commitments get in the way of worship you can join us on Wednesday for Evening Song Worship at 5:30 followed by a catered meal in the fellowship hall for $5.00 (reservations for the meal can be made on the sign-up sheet in the entryway or emailed to the office).

As we move into the fall schedule we conclude our year long read through the Bible with a look at the Gospel of John in our worship.  The sermon series, “There’s an App for That”  will focus on John’s message that Jesus brings peace,  healing, light and quenches our spiritual hunger and thirst.

Evening Song Worship moves to Wednesday

Resurrection’s Summer Worship schedule begins Memorial Day weekend with two Sunday worship opportunities and a midweek worship beginning Wednesday, June 2.
