Well Project Update

We are half-way through our 90 day campaign to raise $5000 to provide clean drinking water for a village somewhere in the world. At this point over $2,800 has been given to our well project. $230 has been given to the website which includes money raised through the vending machine in the YAC. Over $2,500 has been raised through donations, a Lenten supper, Sunday School offerings and a special gift from the High School Youth Group.

Funds turned in to the church are eligible for a special matching-funds grant from Thrivent Financial. For every $3 we raise by the end of May, Thrivent will donate $1 to the project up to $1,600.

You Can Help!
In addition to making a donation (use the special Second Quarter Mission Envelope or simply put your donation in an envelope and write charity: water on the front) we invite you to participate in some of the fund-raising activities that groups and individuals are sponsoring this month.

Colin Loynachan in concert 7:30 May 14th

Celebration Iowa Concert
Colin Loynachan, a high school student who plays drums and bass in the With Faith praise band at the Hope4All and New Song Worship services, has been selected to play in the Celebration Iowa Jazz Band that will be on tour this summer. To raise money for this tour Colin will be performing a special concert on Friday, May 14 at 7:30 in the church parking lot. The High School Youth Group will be selling concessions (drinks and snacks) at the concert. A free-will offering will be taken to support Colin and all proceeds from concession sales will go to the charity:water well project.

Iowa Drink Can Refunds
Donate your empty soft-drink cans to the cause. You can bring empty cans and leave them in the Youth Activity Center (YAC). Or contact Carter Moore and he will arrange for someone in the youth group to stop and pick them up if you absolutely can’t get them to the church.
