Lent is about a journey – a journey to the cross. As with any journey, we have choices about which road to take. Most take the well-trodden path, because it is familiar and easier. The gospel texts through Lent invite us down a road less traveled: the way of the cross. Choosing that road makes all the difference in our lives. During the remaining Sundays of Lent, Palm Sunday, and Easter, we will explore “The Roads of Lent” through various stories, sermons, and songs.
Pastor Miranda’s sermon this Sunday, March 13th will be “The Road of Anticipation.” Services are at 8:15, 9:45, and 11:00 am.
When you come to worship, be sure to bring new nail clippers to donate to our ‘Baskets of Promise’ campaign. If you are able, please bring a bath towel (dark color, light-weight, max. 52”x27”) too. On March 20th, we’ll assemble all the personal care items donated throughout Lent and send the kits to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to people around the world who have been driven from their homes by natural disasters or violence.
Don’t forget to set your clocks FORWARD before you go to bed Saturday night!
