Malawi Comes to Iowa

During February, LCR has the privilege of welcoming Shadreck Galatiya, a Children’s Ministry Director from Malawi, Africa. Our Youth Director Katie Kascel, as well as students from our high school and college ministries have worked alongside Shadreck and his programs in Malawi over the past few years. Shadreck and his family (shown below) facilitate an Orphan Care Center on the shores of Lake Malawi through the organization Gospelink. Driven by the idea that children thrive best within a family structure, this Orphan Care Center places orphans from surrounding villages with permanent families who have the resources to love, care, and provide for these children. Our Youth Ministry as well as our Adult Faith Development Program will be providing several opportunities to hear about Shadreck’s ministry in further detail.

Shadreck will be speaking at our High School Ministry EDGE on Wednesday, February 19th from 7:30-9:00 pm.

On Sunday the 23rd of February, a  forum will be held at 9:45 in the Fellowship Hall, where Shadreck will give a presentation about his          background, his ministry, and how God is at work in Malawi.

Following the services, there will be a cultural lunch event held in the Fellowship Hall, where we will be able to experience Malawian food, music, worship, and culture. Families are  welcomed and encouraged to attend!
