Resurrection E-News: Sunday, September 8, 2019

The Senior Pastor Call Committee is completing the Ministry Site Profile, which is a way for the congregation to give us input on the direction of LCR  in the future. This information also enables us to present ourselves to prospective candidates. You can still complete a survey to share your thoughts with the call committee by following this link.

Adult Discipleship

Adult Faith – beginning September 15, and running for seven weeks, our classes for adults on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am are:

  • Doubters: Open exclusively to new confirmands and high school freshmen this class will follow Rob Bell’s NOOMA video series. Jesus lived with the awareness that God is doing something, right here, right now, and anybody can be a part of it. He encouraged his listeners to search, to question, to wrestle with the implications of what he was saying and doing. He inspired, challenged, provoked, comforted, and invited people to be open to God’s work in this world. Wherever he went, whatever he did, Jesus started discussions about what matters most, because, for Jesus, God is always inviting us to open our eyes and join in. NOOMA is a series of short films that explore our world from a perspective of Jesus. NOOMA is an invitation to search, question, and join the discussion.
  • Discipled: Don’t miss out on joining the Chronological Bible study as they begin in approx. 435 BC. Study some Nehemiah, Ezra, and Malachi before heading into the Gospels. Reading all of the Gospels simultaneously, we’ll be able to see the similarities and differences from a variety of perspectives.
  • Doers: Study how to love our children as God loves us, his children through Sacred Parenting. (Donna Dennis says, “I studied this when my children were teenagers. It changed my perspective! I wish I would’ve studied it when they were toddlers.”)
