Ministry

FLY helpers – This is the final week of meals provided by the ‘Feeding Lunches to Youth’ program in Marion. FLY has served more than 5,000 meals this summer! We need volunteers every day this last week, so please sign up online at http://signup.com/go/JDqAoNO or email Jill Hansen (jill@lcrmarion.org). Kids and teens are welcome to serve with an adult.

Churches of Marion Food Pantry – Can you help us fill the summer ‘food gap’ for local families? You can donate items directly (list on bulletin board), or help us fund our purchases. Food donations are accepted at the bins in our gathering space. Monetary donations may be sent to the Pantry (864 – 12th St. in Marion). Thank you so much for your continued support!

Fellowship

55+ Group – The proposal to establish a new group for the 55+ crowd has been met with enthusiasm and support. If you can, please gather with us Sunday, August 18 at 9:30 am in the fellowship hall or contact Pam Brown at batsllc@msn.com. We welcome your interest and suggestions!

Scrapbooking Group will meet on Saturday, September 7 from 9 am to 9 pm. If you want to take part, contact Donna – donnakdennis88@gmail.com. Everyone is welcome to join in our creative fun!

Adult Discipleship

Are you ready to take control of your money? Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-lesson course designed to help you build a budget, dump debt, grow your wealth, and leave money stress behind! Each lesson, taught by Dave Ramsey and his team of financial experts, is based on biblical wisdom and common sense. In your FPU group, you’ll be motivated and encouraged by others just like you! When you sign up for FPU, you’ll get your member workbook and one free year of Financial Peace Membership, with access to exclusive online tools to help you on your journey. Register online today!

Facilitators will be needed as we gear up for fall and the start of new adult faith classes. We’re particularly looking for folks who want to facilitate a class in one of these areas:

> Doubters – folks with questions about faith – why? how? who?

> How do I…. pray? study the bible? learn a new spiritual practice?

> What does the Bible say about… money? health? relationships? parenting? dying? etc.

Contact Donna (donnakdennis88@gmail.com) or Dan (dtegtmeier@iowanorthern.com) if you’re even a little bit interested in serving this way.

Lifetree Café – Join us Sunday at 9:05 am or Friday at 12 pm for coffee, snacks, and discussion. Feel free to invite outside friends, as we have conversations about topics relevant to everyone. Our subject this week is “Faith & Science”
