Sunday, September 11 & 14: Seeking the Lost

September 11, 2001 is a day the world will never forget. Remembering this day of suffering and anguish also brings to mind stories of profound courage and compassion. Jesus tells parables in Luke’s gospel of a man and woman searching diligently for something they have lost. Today is a time to remember not only what has been lost, but also what has been found, recovered, and celebrated. People all around us continue to work together to heal and restore relationships that are too easily broken or lost. Preacher: Pastor Dennis

Rally Sunday is September 11, with the start of Sunday School and our 3-service format (8:15, 9:45, 11:00). From 11:30 am-2:00 pm we’ll have a potluck & cook-out (burgers, brats, and hot dogs). At noon we’ll form a “Living Flag” in the Worship Room with 100+ participants and then move on to games & crafts. We will be recognizing EMT’s, police officers, firefighters, and their families as our honored guests.

Rally Sunday helpers – After forming our Living Flag, we’ll have a picnic/potluck luncheon PLUS snow cones, crafts, face-painting, karaoke, punt/pass/kick, kickball, and longest-drive contest. Volunteers are absolutely needed to help with all these activities, plus grilling, serving, and clean-up. If you see a job that isn’t getting done, JUMP IN AND DO IT!
