Our film series, “The Journey,” continues this Sunday, December 13, with “Joseph of Bethlehem.” Through the film and sermon, “Marry a Pregnant Virgin,” we will look more deeply into Joseph’s inner struggles to believe Mary’s news that she is expecting a child. When an angel visits Joseph in a dream with the news that this child is the Savior of the world, he moves from doubt to faith and is obedient to God’s will for his life. There are several takeaways from this story that we will explore – how our hopes and dreams are sometimes crushed; how doubt is the doorway to deeper faith; and how the gospel of mercy and forgiveness trumps everything else.
The Resurrection choir and handbells will present a beautiful anthem, “A Celtic Silent Night,” at the 8:15 and 9:45 services. A touching video about Kids Against Hunger will be seen at 8:15 and 11:00 (and at 9:45 next Sunday, Dec. 20). If you haven’t already done so, please turn in your 2016 Commitment forms so we can count on your support in the coming year.
See you on Sunday!
