Resurrection E-news: April 23, 2017

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This is a big Sunday at LCR with our Community Audit Panel speakers, Dixieland band worship at 8:15, and reception of new members. There are other upcoming events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Thanks to the many people who helped plan or carry out our Holy Week services on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. We especially thank the musicians, altar guild, Katie Kascel and her EDGE youth for their delicious Easter breakfast, and those who decorated the sanctuary.

We will try to send this e-note out every Friday as a way of communicating what’s coming up in the near future. The monthly Crosstalk will provide more details on each topic.

Pastor Dennis

Quilts displayed in the gathering space this Sunday were created by our own Comforting Hands group, who meet Mondays from 9-11 am to create tied quilts for distribution locally and internationally. The group always welcomes new members. You do not need sewing skills as there are many tasks involved in making a quilt.

Thank you to everyone who donated items for the Personal Care Kit drive. 75 kits were assembled for shipment to Lutheran World Relief in late April! The kits will be distributed to disaster areas and refugees around the world. – Rebecca-Mary Martha Circle.

Giving Tree for Camp EWALU scholarships is in the gathering space this Sunday through next Sunday, April 30. Make summer bible camp a reality for Resurrection youth and their friends by picking up an numbered envelope from the Giving Tree and returning it with your gift.
