Ash Wednesday – February 14 at 6 & 7 pm. We will hear those familiar words as we kneel at the rail: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” The season of Lent begins with a solemn call to fasting and repentance from Jesus in Matthew 6 as we begin our journey toward the cross. The sign of ashes on our forehead suggests our human mortality. With the cross on our brow, we long for the spiritual renewal that flows from the Easter feast to come.
Lent Worship begins on Wednesday, February 21 at 6 & 7 pm. We will be using Holden Evening Prayer as our liturgy. Our worship theme will be “Members in Mission: Following Jesus into the World,” featuring stories from members who have found meaning and purpose in volunteering with our mission partners. Your purple Lenten envelope offerings will be given to mission partners such as: Matthew 25, Mission of Hope, and Lutheran Services in Iowa.
