Adult Faith Development programs start this weekend!

Sunday Morning Bible Study -Sundays, 9:45 am, conference room, Jim & Linda Cornally, begins 9/18

Growing Older – 4 Sundays, 9:45 am, fellowship hall, begins 9/18

Guest speakers will cover topics like financial concerns, wills & legal issues (power of attorney), staying in your home or moving to assisted living facilities, how to stay healthy, and other concerns of aging.

Brown Bag Bible Study -Thursdays, 11:30–12:30, fellowship hall, Pastor Dennis

Bring your lunch for conversation and Bible or book studies, previewing the gospel text for the upcoming Sunday. We’ll use a fun format by Serendipity House for our study of Luke’s gospel.

Who doesn’t want to think about summer?!  While not wanting to “wish our lives away”, we do look forward to these special events each summer and we hope you will save the dates on your calendars and join us!

It is time to start planning for summer fun and EWALU/LCR is just the place to find it!  Mark your calendars for Day Camp 2013  at LCR  the week of July 22-26. Counselors from EWALU Bible Camp come to Resurrection to lead youth in a week of joyful celebration called “Faith Alive” this year.

ALSO, if going away to camp for a week is your thing, register now for a week of summer fun in Strawberry Point, which is where Camp EWALU is located.  Early-bird discounts are available if you register by Feb 28th.  Pick up a brochure at the church or go to

Operation Christmas Child Packing Event

November 18th LCR is hosting a “Packing Event” for Operation Christmas Child.

Come anytime between 2:00-4:00 p.m. to join in the fun.  All are welcome!

Fall Kick-off

This Sunday, September 9, 2012 we return to our Fall/Winter worship schedule with three Sunday morning worship services: 8:15 First Light, 9:45 Hope4All, and 11:00 New Song. It will also be the first day of the new Sunday School year with classes for preschool – 5th graders in our 9:45 SS Discipleship and 11:00 Praise Island programs. If you are interested in learning more about adult small groups learning opportunities or Sunday morning Adult Faith Development classes there will information booths and small group facilitators in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45.

Everyone is invited to stay for a church-wide barbecue at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Meat and drinks will be provided. Bring a dish to share or just came and join us and help us celebrate a new year of learning and fellowship!

2012-2013 Children’s Program Registration

Registration for 2012-2013  Sunday school (preschool – 5th grade), Confirmation (6th – 8th grade) and Wednesday Night Live (3rd – 5th grade) will begin Sunday, August 5th.  Look for the registration table in the gathering space.  Forms are (or will become) available online. Summer Youth Registrations

Another exciting summer is unfolding at LCR with Preschool/Kindergarten VBS June 11-14 and Elementary Daycamp August 6-10.  For details and registration forms click on the Education tab above.  Come along with us!

EWALU 2012 Registration Open

We have opened registration for Summer 2012 Camp EWALU!  Visit for more information on the opportunities for campers.  You can register online by clicking HERE, at LCR or mail the form in yourself.  If you directly register with EWALU, please let the church office know so that scholarships can be shared appropriately.  Early registration deadline is Feb 19 (to turn into the church).  We have selected Weeks 3 & 5 as “LCR Weeks”

We will not have WNL this week, October 26th. Make it a family night!

November 2nd is Game Night. Bring a favorite board or card game to share.

November 9th is our night at Cross Roads Mission. Be on the lookout for more details next week.

Wednesday, October 19th   5:30pm—8:00 pm (you may come later than 5:30pm)

Families are asked to meet at Bloomsbury Farms.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.


$5.00 for WNL students and $9.00 per adult  and younger siblings

 Sign up and money is due  to Jill by Monday  October, 17th.

(This may be different than the high school youth group as WNL will be helping with the costs for our families. High school students must pay Carter.)

This includes flashlight maze, hayrack ride, jumping pillow (until dark), various other activities around the farm, use of the party barn and bonfire.  Hot dogs, chips, drinks, and smores will be provided.
