Lenten Worship

This year Resurrection will offer two Lenten worship services on Wednesday evenings; at 5:30 and at 7:00. A light Lenten meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall from 5:45 – 6:45 for a nominal donation. Each week a different ministry group will provide the meal with proceeds going to support those ministry programs. If you would like to assist with any of the worship services as Greeter, Usher or by running the power point please contact Marcia at the church office or stop by the Welcome Center window on Sunday morning.

All Lenten services are open to the members of the community looking for a quiet, meditative worship experience during Lent regardless of church affiliation or membership.

ASH WEDNESDAY MARCH 9, 2011
A traditional service of repentance which will include the imposition of ashes (receiving an ashen cross on the forehead) and Holy Communion.

JESUS SAYS, “I AM”
In the weeks following Ash Wednesday we will use the Holden Evening Prayer liturgy, a calming, melodic liturgy of chant and response. It will be led by Pastor Blair and Lyn A’Hearn. Each week we will look at one of the “I Am” statements of Jesus taken from the gospel accounts of his life. Members of the Small Group leadership team will share their reflections and thoughts on these ways Jesus reveals himself to the world.
