Resurrection E-news: Sunday, April 29, 2018

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Sunday, April 29, Pastor Erika Uthe will be our guest preacher. Pastor Uthe is an assistant to the Bishop of our Southeastern Iowa Synod, with a focus on Evangelical Mission. We will have communion at all three services, with the King’s Men sharing an anthem at 8:15, second grade bibles presented at the 9:45 service, and the baptism of Claire Hajek at 11:00.

A Care Ministers meeting will be held at 9:45 in the fellowship hall, led by Pastor Miranda. If you have been a care minister in the past, or if you would like to learn more about this ministry, come to hear about this unique ministry. A care minister is linked up with one of our older members who live in nursing homes, other care facilities, or at home to provide friendship and support.

There are other upcoming events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website (www.lcrmarion.org) provide more details on each topic.

Blessings to you,

Pastor Dennis

GIVE

March-April mission envelopes are designated for the ELCA “40 Days of Giving” emphasis. Malawi health & wellness projects and education & vocational training needs will be supported through this emphasis.

Your gifts to the Growth & Outreach Fund in April will provide salary, benefits, and housing for our seminary intern, Alyssa Weaver; facility maintenance and repair; and  support of Marion Cares after-school programming and the Marion Habitat home described above.

General Fund gifts support our local ministries and programs led by our staff and carried out by our members and friends. Your General Fund gifts also support our mission partners locally and around the world. Through April 22nd, we had received 97% of what was needed for General Fund ministries through April. Thanks for your generous, faithful support so far in 2018!

Giving through VANCO – You can give electronically to LCR through: the giving kiosk by the library or the Give+mobile app, available from Google Play or iTunes. Once your information has been entered on the app, you can give to LCR anytime, anywhere. Another option is to send a text message to the number (319) 320-1628 from your mobile phone. You will receive a one-time registration link to enter credit or debit card payment information. After that, you can simply text the amount you want to give and it will process automatically.

Simply Giving – You can elect to have a weekly or monthly gift withdrawn from your checking or savings account. Enrollment forms are in the info rack by the Welcome Center. Over a third of our General Fund offerings come from Simply Giving families.
