This Sunday, June 5th, Pastor Dennis will preach “Called to Go”
This summer in worship we’re learning in depth the story of the Apostle Paul, whose writings continue to shape the lives of the worldwide church. Through his video “The Call,” filmed in Turkey, Greece, and Rome, author Adam Hamilton is taking us to the places where St. Paul walked, taught, preached, and wrote his letters. The Scripture readings for June and July from two of his letters, Galatians and Colossians, are the focus of sermons by Pastor Dennis while Pastor Miranda is on her maternity leave.
In the video and sermon this Sunday, we’ll see that the Holy Spirit spoke to Paul’s ‘home congregation’ while in worship and prayer, calling them to send Paul and Barnabas out in mission through Galatia. On this journey, Paul preached about sin and salvation, planted churches, trained leaders, and learned how to persevere in the midst of trials and violent opposition. We can learn much about persistence and courage in doing difficult work for God from this story.
