Sunday, October 16 & 19: Tenacious Faith

Pray always. Do not lose heart. This is the encouragement of Jesus in the gospel today. Persistence in our every encounter with the divine will be blessed. Wrestle with God in your prayers as Jacob did all night long with a divine adversary who ultimately blessed him and changed his name to Israel. Come regularly to Christ’s table of blessing to be fed and remember your baptism each day.  Preacher: Pastor Dennis

Marion Lutheran Churches Blood Drive – You have bazillions of blood cells! Why not share them with someone in need? Come to Ascension Lutheran on Monday, October 17th from 2:30-6:00 pm. In addition to giving blood, you’ll get a chance to visit with friends from Ascension and Faith, and enjoy free cookies and juice. Sign up on the entryway bulletin board today or call Ascension (373-1444) to get your preferred time slot. Last date to have donated previously is 8/22/2016.

Underwear Drive – Marion Cares is collecting new packaged underwear for  “Trunk or Treat” events for students in Marion Village & Squaw Creek Village. The Trunk-or-Treats will be held on October 27th, but we need generous people in our community to help us by purchasing girls and/or boys underwear (sizes 4 and up) and bringing them to their churches by Sunday, October 23.
