From Heaven Above – The Gift of Love

December 4 & 7: From Heaven Above – The Gift of Love

This second Sunday in Advent is based on John 3:13-17. The Gift of Love looks at how the steadfast love of God is revealed in the gift of his Son; and how we, as the redeemed people of God, have the privilege of sharing God’s love with others.  Preacher: Pastor Dennis

December 4th – Special Congregational Meeting

All active confirmed members of Resurrection are encouraged to attend this congregational meeting today at 12:15 in the worship room. Come and hear about the work of the Long Range Planning Team over the last several months and their proposal to hire two consulting firms – Vernon Research Group and Kairos Associates – to lead us in a strategic planning process in 2017. In order to move forward, we need your input and approval. There will be a written ballot vote on the proposal to hire the two firms after the presentation is made and discussion held on the proposal.

Loving Generously stewardship campaign

If you haven’t already turned in your commitment form, please pick one up at the Welcome Center window this weekend. These commitments form the backbone of our spending plans for 2017. Love Generously by making a commitment today!

Serving at Resurrection during this blessed season:

Christmas Decorating will take place on Sunday, December 4 after the special congregational meeting. We will fortify ourselves with pizza at noon and then start working to make this church beautiful to celebrate our Savior’s birth! Please let Marcia know how many of your family will be attending so she can order enough pizza.

Christmas Eve Worship Assistants will be needed at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, and 7:00 pm. If you can help with any of the following tasks, please let Marcia know: PowerPoint, Greeting, Ushering, Communion Serving, Reading, Communion set-up, and Acolyte.

Christmas Day & New Years Day helpers will be needed at 9:30 am on Sunday, Dec. 25 and Sunday, Jan. 1. If you will be attending either of these services and can help in worship, please let Marcia know. We especially need people to run PowerPoint and to set up Communion.
