Resurrection E-news: Sunday, October 1, 2017

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Sunday, October 1 , we’ll continue our 5-week sermon series on Spiritual Gifts with a message by Alyssa Weaver, our seminary intern. God gives us spiritual gifts and then scatters clues to those gifts along the path of our lives. We feel good when we use our gifts because we are being who God has created us to be. We will look at our life stories today and the patterns within our stories that just might be clues to our gifts – they can help reveal who God created each of us to be.

There are other upcoming events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website (www.lcrmarion.org) provide more details on each topic.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Dennis

Mission of Hope Lunch Program is Thursday, October 5 at 11:30. If you would like to be on the serving line or contribute bars or cookies, contact Linda Schminke or Sharon Hill, or the church office. Financial assistance is also welcome – ask Linda or Sharon how you can give.

Landscaping Fall Clean-up Day will be Saturday, October 14, starting at 8:30 am. There will be a mid-morning break for treats; our target is to be finished by noon. These workdays are a big help to the landscapers, who work  hard to keep the Resurrection grounds looking their best. Please let one of the Landscaping Team know if you can help or if you have any questions: Andy/Marilyn Carter, Julie/Denny Gilds, Linda Hayward. If you can bring your own tools, that would be great, as we only have a couple extras.

Habitat for Humanity Marion Build began on Friday, September 22 at 282 – 22nd St. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up on the entryway bulletin board. Your contact information will be given to Habitat and they will contact you when needed for those tasks. Jobs are on Saturdays (8:30 am – 4:00 pm), or on some weekdays. Half-days are also welcome. Tools and lunch are always provided. If you are unskilled in a task, on-site staff will teach you. Call the church office with any questions, or to get involved!
