Resurrection E-news: Sunday, October 15, 2017

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Sunday, October 15th, we’ll begin a new 5-week sermon series called Leading Generously, with weekly films featuring the Donovan family and their former gardener, Re. We have learned stewardship truths the last two years by watching the first two series of films – Living Generously and Loving Generously. In those films Frank Donovan learned how to steward his successful business into helping people in poverty and growing in relationship with them. In this third series, we see what happens when his success comes undone. Can he steward his loss just as well? This film series will give a deeper look at generous living, especially in the midst of hardship and failure. Pastor Miranda will preach on the first film’s topic- trusting in God’s promises. Each family will receive a take home item that will remind you to “believe in the seed.” In addition, Tatum Buse from our Long Range Planning Team will share at each service about our strategic planning process and the second recommendation that relates to our stewardship of time, talent, and treasure.

For those who were unable to be with us last Sunday, there are extra 2018 Time and Talent forms for you to pick up and complete. They are organized by spiritual gift categories this time, instead of by purposes like worship, discipleship, etc. We also have spiritual gift inventories that you can complete if you haven’t already done so.

There are other upcoming events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website (www.lcrmarion.org) provide more details on each topic.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Dennis

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Sunday, October 8th, we’ll wrap up our 5 week sermon series on Spiritual Gifts and use what we’ve learned as we  fill out our 2018 Time and Talent forms. The new forms will be based on your spiritual gifts, along with your passions and personal style. If you have the gift of helps, or leadership, or mercy, or administration, we will have suggestions for how to use that gift in service to your church and the wider community.

In addition, Tatum Buse from our Long Range Planning Team will share at each service about our strategic planning process and the first recommendation – to develop and implement a governance structure for a larger congregation. In my sermon, I will also share about LCR’s two top priorities that emerged from last spring’s surveys.

Resurrection E-news: Sunday, October 1, 2017

Dear members and friends of LCR,

This Sunday, October 1 , we’ll continue our 5-week sermon series on Spiritual Gifts with a message by Alyssa Weaver, our seminary intern. God gives us spiritual gifts and then scatters clues to those gifts along the path of our lives. We feel good when we use our gifts because we are being who God has created us to be. We will look at our life stories today and the patterns within our stories that just might be clues to our gifts – they can help reveal who God created each of us to be.

There are other upcoming events and opportunities that we want to alert you to through this weekly e-note. Our website (www.lcrmarion.org) provide more details on each topic.
