Dennis Johnson: Senior Pastor
Dennis came to Resurrection in February of 2000 after serving as pastor at Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons, Minnesota (1992-2000) and at Gloria Dei Lutheran in Tomah, Wisconsin (1986-1992). He is a native of New Hampton, Iowa and graduated from University of Northern Iowa (1977) and Luther Seminary (1986). Prior to seminary Dennis served as Youth Minister at Vinje Lutheran Church, Willmar, MN (1977-1980) and Midvale Lutheran Church, Madison, WI (1980-82). Dennis is married and has two children.
Pastor Dennis shares preaching and worship leadership, teaches Alpha classes for new members and others, and works directly with church administration, council and staff on their various roles in our shared ministry. He is also involved with bible camp promotion
Kevin Jones: Associate Pastor
Kevin came to Resurrection in June of 2001 after serving for eight years as Associate Pastor of the Blair Lutheran Parish in Blair, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University (1986) and Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary (1993). Prior to seminary Kevin worked in retail management for three years. Kevin is married to Amy and has two children.
In addition to sharing the preaching and worship leadership duties, Pastor Kevin works closely with the Worship Teams, Social Concerns Committee, Technology Team and teaches Middle School Confirmation and Adult Ed Classes. Kevin is a woodcarver and is involved with the woodworking team at Resurrection. He also volunteers as a marching instructor at Linn-Mar High School.
Blair A’Hearn: Associate Pastor
Blair came to Resurrection in September of 2010 to serve a two year, half time term call while completing his Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at UNI. He has 20 years of experience as an ELCA pastor in Iowa Falls IA, Bloomington MN, and Bloomington IL. His areas of focus at LCR are marriage, family, and individual counseling; small group ministry and adult education; co-leading Evening Song worship with his wife Lyn; and preaching every 4th or 5th week. Blair and Lyn have three grown daughters.
Tammy Evans: S.S. Discipleship (9:45) Sunday School Coordinator
Tammy began her work as the WRM Coordinator when Resurrection moved to our new facility in the spring of 2004 and the WRM was introduced as a new Sunday School program for Preschool- 5th grade students. Tammy lives in Marion with her husband Matt and two children. She taught school for 17 years preceding this position. She enjoys reading children’s books, swimming and traveling. Working with children through the Sunday School program and other activities at Resurrection and in the community are also favorite pastimes.
Jill Hansen: Praise Island (11:00) Sunday School Coordinator and WNL Director
Jill Hansen was hired as the Praise Island Sunday School Coordinator in August of 2008 and the Wednesday Night Live Director in October of 2009. She lives in Marion with her husband, Gary and her three boys. Jill grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa and is a graduate of the University of Iowa. Jill has been a member of LCR since 1999. Previously, she taught at a Christian Preschool for 6 years. She loves music, reading, sports, and the Hawkeyes. She enjoys having fun with her boys and the LCR kids.
Carter Moore: Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries
I am 30 and am married to my beautiful wife, Jody. We live in the booming metropolis of Urbana and have 3 children, Jasmine, Kael, and Elijah! I am a fan of God, family, friends, the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing and pretty much anything else that is a sport or involves the outdoors. We have been members at LCR since 2004 and we love our church home. I enjoy life and love to interact with people. And I look forward to meeting you!

Marcia Edwards: Volunteer Coordinator
Marcia Edwards is from Correctionville, Iowa but has lived in Marion for the last thirty years. She taught mathematics in western Iowa, Frankfurt, Germany, and an Indian girls boarding school in South Dakota. While raising her children she was involved in a multitude of volunteer projects. She and her husband Larry have 2 children and 4 grandchildren
Evelyn Beck: Office Manager
Evelyn and her husband Les have been members since November of 2000 when they relocated to Cedar Rapids from Ames. Evelyn started working at Resurrection July 1, 2008. She volunteers as greeter and usher at the church. Her hobby is watercolor painting and drawing.
Anne Armstrong: Office Assistant
Anne Armstrong has been at Resurrection since May of 2001. She lives in Marion with her husband, Karlos. She enjoys serving in her home church and walks with Karlos and her dogs.
Emily Carson: Office Assistant
Emily Carson has been at Resurrection since January of 2003. She lives in the Marion district. In her spare time, Emily likes reading, movies, and naps.
